Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Shefali Modi (“we”), operator of Padhora, collects and why, in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

• Account: name, email and/or mobile number, state (for GST invoices), and optionally a GSTIN.
• Purchases: plans bought, amounts, invoices, and payment references from Razorpay/PhonePe (never card or UPI PINs).
• Usage: which materials you open, preview or download, reading progress, device type, IP address and sign-in sessions — used to run your library, enforce the device limit, prevent sharing and abuse, and improve the catalogue.

Watermarks

Your name and email or mobile number are printed on every page you open or download, together with a short account reference. This is how we protect authors' work and keep prices low.

Who we share it with

• Payment processors (Razorpay, PhonePe) to take payments and refunds.
• Email/SMS providers to send sign-in codes, receipts and important notices.
• Hosting and storage providers that run the service.
• Authorities, when required by law.

We do not sell personal data and do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Retention

Account data is kept while your account is active. Invoices are kept as long as tax law requires (currently 8 years). Access logs are kept for up to 2 years.

Your rights

You can access, correct or ask us to erase your personal data, and withdraw consent, by writing to us (see Contact). Some data (e.g. invoices) must be retained by law.
